Häcker Küchen GmbH & Co. KG is expanding its tried-and-tested mobile robot fleet at its site in Venne, Lower Saxony, and again relying on the automation expertise of Jungheinrich. Another three ERC 213a forklifts trucks will join the operations at the company’s plant 5. The expansion is designed to meet the rising transport demand resulting from the continual growth the kitchen manufacturer is enjoying. This addition will bring the fleet to a total of 16 ERC 213a automated guided vehicles (AGVs).
Häcker Küchen has deployed Jungheinrich automated stacker trucks for a number of years to supply production and order picking. The tried-and-tested system architecture will now be expanded to meet the company’s needs. The decision in favour of Jungheinrich was made based on the long-standing partnership, regular updates on the current process situation, and a joint layout workshop to identify optimisation potential.
The expanded, connected system was designed for continuous 24/5 operations. The compact stacker trucks equipped with lithium-ion batteries are charged around the clock using automated charging infrastructure.
The compact design of the ERC 213a trucks is ideal for narrow work spaces. Thanks to precise laser navigation, the AGVs can navigate through the warehouse easily at all times while comprehensive safety systems allow for mixed operations with manual vehicles and pedestrians.
“The existing fleet of 13 ERC 213a trucks was no longer able to meet the transport volumes required,” explains Alexander Berane, Project Engineer at Häcker Küchen. “This expansion lays the groundwork for further growth and satisfying higher transport volumes. The cooperation with Jungheinrich, which has been characterised by a thorough understanding of our needs, a high level of system availability and reliable project processing, once again sealed the deal for us.”
This project underscores the position of Jungheinrich as a solid partner for scalable automation solutions in the manufacturing industry.
