Delta unveils latest advancements in industrial automation at SPS Nuremberg 2024
At SPS Nuremberg 2024, Delta showcased a full suite of automation solutions, each carefully engineered to enhance operational safety, efficiency, and flexibility in industrial environments.
Delta unveiled its latest advancements in industrial automation at SPS Nuremberg 2024. The portfolio included solutions engineered to meet the stringent standards and unique requirements of the European market, including the new AC Servo Drive A3-EP Series, the Advanced IIoT Controller AX-5, and the Human Machine Interface DOP-300S Series.
Delta D-Bot Series Cobots
The main highlight at Delta’s showcase at SPS this year was its flagship product, the D-Bot Series Collaborative Robots. The D-Bot series includes six versatile models: D-Bot 6, D-Bot 8, D-Bot 10, D-Bot 16, D-Bot 20, and D-Bot 30, with payload capacities ranging from 6 to 30 kg. With "Plug & Play" setup and intuitive programming via a user-friendly interface, the D-Bot series are accessible to operators of all skill levels, promoting human-robot collaboration in sectors such as automotive, logistics and electronics.
The D-Bot Series Collaborative Robots now integrates with NVIDIA Omniverse — a platform of application programming interfaces (APIs), software development kits, and services that enable developers to harness Universal Scene Description (OpenUSD) for physical AI — and NVIDIA Isaac Sim, a reference simulation platform built on Omniverse for designing and testing robots. The integration enables Delta D-Bot users in sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare to simulate real-world conditions with unprecedented precision.
"Integrating with NVIDIA Omniverse and Isaac Sim represents a transformative step forward for the Delta D- Bot (cobots) and our whole robotics portfolio," said Michael Mayer-Rosa, Senior Director, Industrial Automation Business Group at Delta Electronics EMEA Region. "By leveraging these cutting-edge technologies, our customers can now experience exceptional simulation accuracy and collaborative capabilities, allowing them to bring sophisticated robotic solutions to market faster and with more confidence."
Unlike traditional industrial robots that require specialized programming knowledge, the Delta D-Bot is simple and user-friendly. By guiding the robot manually and saving each step, you avoid the complexity of inputting coordinates. This simplicity makes the Delta D-Bot ideal for businesses looking to integrate robotics without needing extensive training or expertise.
“When you purchase a Delta D-Bot collaborative robot from us, everything you need is included. You can control the robot directly using the provided tablet, or if you prefer, you can use programming languages like C++ or Python,” said Mayer-Rosa. “Additionally, our system offers an intuitive interface for drag-and-drop functionality, making it easy to modify operations without advanced programming skills.”
Delta also showcased the following products at SPS 2024:
- AC Servo Drive A3-EP Series: The AC Servo Drive A3-EP Series has been developed specifically for Europe’s dynamic automated manufacturing sector. Building on Delta’s high-end A3 Series, the A3-EP Series offers precise control, high speed, and energy efficiency.
- Advanced IIoT Controller AX-5 Series: Delta’s Advanced IIoT Controller AX-5 Series is designed for the precision machinery industry and high-speed, high-precision machining. Equipped with a powerful Arm Cortex 4-core processor, the AX-5 Series supports multitasking and controls up to 64 axes. This enables seamless synchronization with servo drives, AC motor drives, and remote I/O modules.
- HMI DOP-300S Series: Delta’s new HMI DOP-300S Series is designed for advanced control and monitoring in smart production and Industry 4.0 environments. Available in 7” and 10” screen sizes with optional Wi-Fi and 4G LTE connectivity, the DOP-300S Series provides OEMs and system integrators with the secure connectivity needed for IIoT applications.
