EMERSON INTRODUCES NEW TRIM CARTRIDGE REPAIR SOLUTION
The solution, an industry first, replaces the use of more than 20 separate parts with a single repair cartridge, greatly simplifying and speeding repairs while reducing fugitive emissions.
Emerson announced the release of the easy-e™ trim cartridge, a complete solution for trimming Fisher™ easy-e globe valves. This factory-assembled repair cartridge combines all valve replacement parts, plus the valve bonnet, into one simple, ready-to-install solution to streamline repair procedures and save time and money during the maintenance process.
Before the introduction of this solution, in the event of a possible malfunction of a globe valve, such as leaks or blockages, it was generally required to disassemble the valve to locate the necessary spare parts. Once located, parts had to be ordered and, once received, installed. In the best of cases, these activities were carried out in the field by an expert technician, albeit with the obvious difficulties caused by the precision required for the installation operations and the multiplicity of parts to be installed. In the worst case, the valve had to be removed from service, resulting in increased repair and labour costs and additional downtime.
The Trim cartridge solves all of these wear parts issues and helps reduce fugitive emissions with standardized ENVIRO-SEAL™ packaging. For older valves that do not have this type of packing, the Trim cartridge is a quick, simple, and inexpensive upgrade that helps reduce emissions.
With this new solution, in-line valve repair is typically possible as soon as the process fluids and pressure have been removed from the valve and can be performed by any technician, without the need for extensive training or expensive equipment. Safety levels are raised thanks to the reduction of the intervention times of the technicians in the field, since the typical repair process which in some cases requires the assembly of up to 20 parts has been simplified into a single repair solution ready for the installation.
The pre-assembled trim cartridge is ordered under a single part number with the standard Fisher OEM valve warranty and is serialized to help improve traceability and simplify documentation of the parts needed to repair. The trim cartridge is available for currently installed Fisher ET and EZ globe valves and new units, in sizes NPS 1 through NPS 4.
