Tool-less field-assembly power connector for industrial devices

Industrial equipment increasingly requires connectors that can be installed and serviced without specialised tooling while maintaining electrical safety and environmental protection. In this context, HARTING released the PushPull V4 Power QuickLock connector using Han QuickLock termination technology.

Installation without crimping tools
The connector enables direct field assembly by inserting stripped conductors into the termination interface rather than using crimp contacts. This reduces installation effort during commissioning or maintenance and supports flexible deployment in automation systems, machinery, robotics and railway equipment.

The PushPull V4 Power QuickLock remains plug-compatible with existing PushPull Power crimp variants, allowing replacement or mixed installation without redesign of equipment wiring.

Electrical and mechanical characteristics
The connector supports flexible conductors from 1.5 to 2.5 mm² and is available in two configurations: 48 V DC at 12 A (4-pole) and 250 V AC at 16 A (2-pole + PE).

Housing protection reaches IP65/IP67 according to IEC DIN EN 60529, and both plug and receptacle provide touch-safe protection. A mechanical PushPull locking mechanism provides audible confirmation when engaged, reducing incorrect mating during installation.

Four coding variants prevent mismating without interrupting electrical contact continuity. Different termination technologies are also available for integration into various device designs.

Compact power distribution in industrial electronics
The connector targets compact industrial devices where space and service access are limited, such as distributed automation modules and mobile equipment. The combination of sealed housing and tool-free termination supports rapid replacement and maintenance, aligning with modular equipment concepts in a digital supply chain environment.

By standardising installation procedures and maintaining compatibility with existing interfaces, the connector simplifies wiring while preserving electrical reliability in industrial power distribution.
