A new module for bending angle measurement is now available for the camera-based protection system PSENvip 2 from Pilz, which forwards usable image data to the press controller. So the operator sees the bending angle value directly on the user interface (HMI) when press braking, removing the need for expensive angle measurement systems and complex manual measurements. So the time and costs involved in the initial and subsequent adjustment of the system are reduced to a minimum. The bending process can be implemented productively and safely with PSENvip 2, thereby guaranteeing high availability on press brakes.
With the new drive controllers PMC SC6 and PMC SI6, Pilz is expanding its portfolio of servo amplifiers to include space-saving, scalable systems for both single and multi-axis applications. Both can be combined flexibly and commissioned quickly. The drive controllers PMC SC6 and PMC SI6 offer high precision, particularly for single or multi-axis applications in the metalworking, packaging or woodworking industry.
New function blocks for simple configuration of safe user programs are available from software version 10.13 of the PNOZmulti Configurator software tool for the configurable small controller PNOZmulti 2. The package includes a new L-muting block for light curtain applications, new logic function blocks for safety gate solutions and for monitoring analogue functions, as well as blocks for more comprehensive coding and/or decoding.
With the intuitive online tool myPNOZ Creator, users can assemble “their” myPNOZ: it’s delivered pre-assembled, set up and tested and so is a completely individualised system, ready to install. No programming knowledge is required to use myPNOZ Creator, as the logic links for the safety functions are defined on myPNOZ via the modules that are selected and the sequence in which they are plugged in. As such the automation company Pilz has developed a digital, universal concept for its new modular safety relay myPNOZ, from selection through to order: with myPNOZ Pilz can offer safe solutions that are built in accordance with customers’ specific individual batch size 1 requirements.
In its "Operating and monitoring" product area Pilz offers eleven new types of the control unit PITgatebox, which can be used for simple operation of safety gate switches and systems. The types with integrated reader unit PITreader also combine safety with industrial security by enabling intuitive control of access permissions.
The new safety gate system PSENmech with guard locking is available now. With this system Pilz can offer a basic economical solution for safe monitoring of movable guards.
Under the exhibition slogan “Be safe and secure with Pilz”, Pilz will be using the virtual platform of the international exhibition SPS – Smart Production Solutions (24 – 26.11.2020) to showcase safe automation solutions for smart and digital automation. These solutions consider machinery safety and industrial security in equal measure. The main area of focus is comprehensive access control while maintaining productivity.
With the operator terminals PMIvisu v807 and v812 Pilz completes its portfolio of operator terminals with two extremely robust, powerful devices for professional visualisation and diagnostics of automation processes. With PMIvisu v8 users can implement intuitive operating concepts simply and quickly.
For the first time it is possible to manage safely not just the control and monitoring of the burner, but of the entire furnace: The new base unit PNOZ m B1 Burner from the safe small controllers PNOZmulti 2 from Pilz supports simultaneous monitoring and safe control of furnaces from Version 10.12 of the software tool PNOZmulti Configurator.
The safety laser scanner PSENscan from Pilz now goes beyond safe, productive monitoring of stationary or mobile danger zones, offering new possibilities for the production logistics sector. Availability of the ROS (Robot Operating System) packages from the Open Source Framework ROS means that the safety laser scanner can also be used for dynamic navigation of automated guided vehicles (AGV) – using SLAM for example (Simultaneous Localisation and Mapping). Users benefit from a more dynamic and therefore safe implementation of mobile applications in production environments.
