Kontron, a leading global provider of IoT/Embedded Computer Technology (ECT), introduces the new KBox B-301-RPL, a robust high-end IPC based on a µATX motherboard designed and manufactured in Germany with 14th Gen Intel® Core™ processors. The powerful IPC can be supplemented with fast NVIDIA GPUs, making it perfect as a central control unit for highly complex applications. These include applications with high demands on 3D graphics or vision and AI workflows with minimal cycle times.
The high-performance KBox B-301-RPL was specially designed for demanding applications in industrial environments. The entire system engineering and manufacturing of the new IPC is realized in Germany, which not only contributes to stable supply chains but also enables high product quality, fast response times, and close cooperation with local partners. At the heart of the industrial PC is the µATX motherboard, also developed and manufactured by Kontron in Germany, with high-performance 14th Gen Intel Core i3/i5/i7/i9 processors with up to 24 cores (8 performance cores and 16 efficient cores) based on Intel® Performance Hybrid Architecture. These processors are characterized by impressive computing power and thus form the basis for demanding real-time applications, machine learning, or the processing of large amounts of data.
By integrating NVIDIA A400 to NVIDIA RTX A4000 Ada GPUs, the new KBox B-301-RPL systems can handle complex AI tasks in industrial automation, such as AI-based robotics, quality control, predictive maintenance, and operational optimization, as well as accelerated workflows in product development and technical simulation.
Two fast NVMe SSDs, each with up to 4 TB, are used for mass storage. In addition, the KBox B-301-RPL offers up to two easily accessible 3.5" SATA drive bays, allowing up to two 2.5-inch SSDs (with/without hardware RAID) or two 3.5-inch SSDs, or a mix of both form factors, to be integrated. This enables a maximum storage capacity of up to 24 TB.
For even more flexibility, the KBox B-301-RPL offers up to four PCIe slots (1x PCIe x16 or 1x PCIe x4, 2x PCIe x1). This allows network cards with up to 2x10 GbE or PCIe graphics cards to be integrated.
With three GbE ports, 2x 2.5 GbE and 1x 1 GbE, as well as seven USB ports (including USB-C), the KBox B-301-RPL ensures high data throughput and connectivity. In addition, the system has four DisplayPorts and a serial interface and, with an input voltage range suitable for worldwide AC networks, is perfectly suited for a wide range of industrial applications.
The new KBox B-301-RPL high-end IPCs are designed for easy wall mounting and are therefore ideal for integration into various applications, such as in control cabinets. Customer-specific adaptations can be implemented quickly and without design risk thanks to the modular design.
