Single-axis servo controller KeDrive D5.
KEBA, the automation expert headquartered in Linz, Austria, is expanding its drive portfolio with the KeDrive D5 series of single-axis servo drives. These fit seamlessly into the open automation platform Kemro X. In addition to the compact KeDrive D3 multi-axis drive system and the KeDrive D3-AC three-axis controller, KeDrive D5 now offers a single-axis drive system that enables a wide range of drive solutions.
The latest product in the KeDrive product family impresses with its high dynamics and precision thanks to high-performance motor control for synchronous, asynchronous, linear and torque motors. With its Ethernet-based fieldbus interface and CANopen, the KeDrive D5 can also be easily connected to 3rd party controllers. The wide supply voltage range of 24 V DC to 480 V AC makes the KeDrive D5 suitable for a wide range of applications in the low and extra-low voltage range. Various options ensure great flexibility and future-proofing – such as an encoder simulation for easy synchronization of several axes or a multi-encoder interface for position detection at the load.
For machine builders, the new single-axis controller is an interesting alternative to the KeDrive D3 multi-axis controller in applications with a small number of axes. KeDrive D5 scores points in device and apparatus engineering with its low leakage currents and compactness. On average, the new series is only half the size of the familiar ServoOne. Thanks to the integrated mains filter, the user can easily comply with EMC standards, even for residential applications.
