VISION 2024: VISION COMPONENTS PRESENTS ULTRA-COMPACT OEM MODULE FOR TRIANGULATION SENSORS
The OEM module combines the proven technology of the VC nano 3D-Z triangulation sensor with a new arrangement of the mirror elements for the camera and laser.
Vision Components will present a new, ultra-compact OEM module for laser triangulation sensors at VISION 2024 (October 8-10, Messe Stuttgart). It is aimed at manufacturers and integrators who use perfectly matching components to quickly and easily develop individual sensors, for example for glue bead and weld seam inspection directly on the tool head.
The OEM module combines the proven technology of the VC nano 3D-Z triangulation sensor with a new arrangement of the mirror elements for the camera and laser. This enables the smallest possible format of only around 69 x 45 x 56 mm. The module offers a measuring rate of up to 2 kHz. It is equipped with powerful FPGAs and a dual-core ARM processor so that all data processing for the specific application tasks can be carried out onboard. An external processing unit is not necessary.
Thanks to the visible, high-power blue laser with a wavelength of 450 nm, sensors based on the module can be installed without further protective measures. The sensors are also insensitive to ambient light up to 100,000 lux. Another advantage of the OEM module is that 2D and 3D measurements can be carried out in parallel. This enables high-precision applications for robot guidance and quality assurance.
The VC nano 3D-Z profile sensor, on which the new OEM module is based, has proven itself in numerous industrial applications, including as an angle measurement sensor in sheet metal bending applications. Leading press brake manufacturers such as Deratech, Doray and Placke already offer the sensor together with their machines. It is also integrated into control systems from Cybelec, Delem, ESA, Laimore and Step Automation, among others.
