New MapleSim release by Maplesoft speeds up simulation-based decision-making
The new version of MapleSim software to be used by machine builders to design and develop new product capabilities and test what-if scenarios.
Maplesoft has released a new version of MapleSim software that supports fast product development timelines for manufacturing equipment and complex machines.
The 2024 update to MapleSim offers several tools that are designed to drive innovation, saving engineers time when evaluating the best-fit design parameters through simulation. One key step when modeling different scenarios is to rapidly tune parameters to cover all likely operating conditions. The newly added Rerun panel allows engineers to quickly vary operating settings and initial conditions, skipping the model formulation step when there are no structural changes to the digital model.
“Engineers looking to assess complex design constraints can now evaluate multiple simulation scenarios in a much shorter time by using MapleSim,” said Chris Harduwar, VP of Strategic Solutions at Maplesoft. “The new results management options make it easy to compare different simulation results in side-by-side views, so decision-making in the early product development stages becomes faster – and that leads to the launch of more robust final machines.”
This release adds a variety of new modeling components to the standard MapleSim libraries (electrical, 1-D mechanical, hydraulics, signal block, and more) to simplify the building of models and closely match real-world machines. For engineers using Modelica®, MapleSim 2024 now supports MSL 4.0.0 standard, allowing customers to leverage the latest Modelica libraries.
The MapleSim family of add-ons and connectors have also been refreshed for 2024. These include new modeling components for winding/unwinding drums and heavy web materials in the MapleSim Web-Handling Library, updates in the MapleSim CAD Toolbox to support recent CAD software releases, and new options to import/export FMI 3.0 files when using the MapleSim Connector for FMI.
The practical, new enhancements in this release show the continual commitment by Maplesoft to expand software and services that encourage innovation, and support design engineers to make confident product design decisions built on efficient, high-fidelity, physics-based models.
