OKUMA ADDS MB-80V TO ITS RANGE OF VERTICAL MACHINING CENTRES
FOR LARGE WORKPIECES, AVAILABLE FOR IMMEDIATE ORDER, SHIPPING FROM AUGUST.
Whether cylinder heads, forming and cutting tools or components for semiconductor production lines, the demands placed on the machines used continue to grow. This applies both in terms of technology and with regard to workpiece dimensions. Okuma, a world leader in CNC machine tools and process optimisation, has responded to this need and now also offers its new MB-80V vertical machining centre in Europe. The largest vertical machining centre in the MB-V series will bring new machining options that benefit automotive suppliers and other industries with large workpieces.
The MB-80V is the largest vertical machining centre in the internationally successful MB-V series and is ideal for working on large workpieces. This is due partly to the working area with table dimensions of 1,600 x 800 millimetres and partly to the X-Y-Z travel of up to 1,600 x 1,050 x 600 millimetres. Despite these impressive dimensions, the machine requires a minimal footprint and can be quickly set up thanks to its easy handling.
Greater performance, less effort
When used, for example, for machining cubic parts, mould components or semiconductor components, the vertical machining centre especially excels with its extreme repeat accuracy, excellent dynamics and high-performance milling. This ensures maximum quality, productivity and precision. Precision is further guaranteed through the proven rigid double column structure. In addition, the machine was designed in such a way that significant quantities of aluminium chips can also be removed. This guarantees maximum machine utilisation
Optimised operability to meet customer requirements
The already simple operation of the MB-V80 with the Okuma OSP P300 controller can also be customised to meet individual customer requirements. A number of control engineering applications are available, such as the "Hyper-Surface" high-speed control or "Machining Navi", to avoid vibrations during machining. The software option “One-Touch IGF” makes workshop programming easier. The "Thermo-Friendly Concept" from Okuma also guarantees maximum process reliability, dimensional stability and shape accuracy in the manufacturing world as standard.
The MB-80V is available for immediate order. Shipping begins in August 2020.
