SIGMATEK introduces web panels for industrial HMI visualization

Industrial automation, machine interfaces, and smart manufacturing systems increasingly require flexible and high-performance human-machine interfaces (HMIs) capable of supporting web-based visualization. In this context, SIGMATEK has introduced a new generation of web panels designed to deliver advanced visualization, connectivity, and system integration.

The new HMI series is available in four display sizes ranging from 10.1 to 21.5 inches and is offered in two variants: built-in panels (ET) and swing arm-mounted panels (TP), both featuring an IP65-protected front.

Web-based visualization with integrated processing
The panels are equipped with quad-core Intel processors, 4 GB DDR4 RAM, and 128 GB M.2 SATA storage, supporting demanding visualization tasks. Combined with a Linux-based real-time operating system, the system enables efficient handling of web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.

An integrated web browser and server allow direct execution of web-based HMI applications, enabling engineers to deploy and manage visualization interfaces without requiring additional software layers.

Display flexibility for machine interfaces
The widescreen format supports both portrait and landscape orientations, allowing flexible arrangement of control elements and visualization layouts. This is particularly relevant in applications where operators need clear access to real-time data and system controls within limited installation space.

Such flexibility supports use cases in machine control, production lines, and process monitoring, where interface clarity and responsiveness are critical.

Industrial communication and connectivity
The panels support standard industrial communication protocols including OPC UA Client/Server and MQTT, enabling integration into modern industrial IoT and smart factory environments.

Hardware connectivity includes two Gigabit Ethernet ports (10/100/1000) and two USB 3.0 interfaces, supporting high-speed data exchange and peripheral integration. A short-term UPS is also integrated to maintain system stability during brief power interruptions.

Robust design for industrial environments
Designed for industrial use, the front of both panel variants is rated IP65, providing protection against dust and water ingress. The rear protection differs by model, with built-in panels rated IP20 and swing arm versions rated IP54.

The HMIs use projective capacitive touch (PCT) technology, with sensors mounted behind a continuous glass surface. This design improves durability while supporting multi-touch operation, including safety-oriented inputs such as requiring simultaneous activation of multiple controls.

Applications in industrial automation
These web panels are suited for applications in machine building, process industries, and smart manufacturing environments where real-time visualization and system connectivity are required. By combining web-based technologies with industrial-grade hardware, the solution supports scalable and adaptable HMI deployment across a range of automation scenarios.
