Kassow Robots has announced the launch of its Kassow Robots Connector App, designed to enable seamless integration of the company’s collaborative robots with the ctrlX AUTOMATION operating system from Bosch Rexroth AG.
The new app will be officially unveiled at LogiMAT and enables real-time communication and simplified integration of Kassow cobots within the ctrlX OS ecosystem.
Simplifying cobot integration in automation systems
Previously, connecting ctrlX OS devices with Kassow cobots required PLC programming and offered limited real-time functionality. The new Connector App removes these limitations by enabling real-time access to cobot data through the ctrlX Data Layer.
With the new interface, operators and developers can:
- Connect and monitor cobots directly from ctrlX OS devices
- Execute robot motion commands
- Acknowledge alarms and monitor system status
- Operate robots in jog mode
- Integrate control via CODESYS PLC or other ctrlX OS applications
This centralized control approach simplifies system commissioning and reduces integration complexity.
Expanding the ctrlX AUTOMATION ecosystem
As part of Bosch Rexroth AG, Kassow Robots is extending the open ctrlX AUTOMATION platform to support robotic applications through app-based interfaces.
The solution enables integration with various partner technologies such as:
- Vision systems
- Robotic grippers
- Human-machine interfaces (HMIs)
This makes it possible to develop automation solutions for applications including:
- Palletizing systems
- Bin picking operations
- Mobile robotics platforms
For example, Kassow cobots can be combined with navigation technologies from the ROKIT Robotics Kit to create mobile robotic systems where navigation, motion control, and robot control are managed from a single ctrlX OS device.
