Matrix converter U1000 Floor Standing for industrial applications

Yaskawa expands its U1000 matrix converter portfolio with a new Floor Standing solution featuring a robust cabinet design engineered for demanding industrial environments. The system provides full regenerative capability and complies with the IEEE 519 standard for harmonic distortion, helping improve power quality and energy efficiency in industrial applications.

Modular architecture and application flexibility
The Floor Standing configuration offers high flexibility in cabinet design, allowing adaptation to various operational requirements and environments with strict demands for availability, efficiency, and sustainability. The system is designed for straightforward integration into existing processes, supporting applications that require high reliability and continuous operation.

DC-linkless matrix technology
The converter is based on Yaskawa’s proven DC-linkless U1000 technology, a high-efficiency direct converter that eliminates the traditional DC link. This architecture reduces harmonic distortion at full load to below 5%, meeting IEEE 519 requirements and ensuring high power quality across all operating conditions and in all four quadrants of operation.

By removing the conventional DC link, the system enables energy regeneration without braking resistors. Regenerated energy is fed directly back into the grid, making it available to other loads within the facility, such as lighting systems or additional production processes.

Energy efficiency and future readiness
With regenerative capability and advanced power quality management, the U1000 Floor Standing matrix converter is positioned as a future-ready solution for industrial applications seeking to reduce energy consumption, improve grid stability, and integrate renewable energy sources into production systems.
