Antaira Unveils Industrial PoE++ Extender for Long-Distance Networking

Antaira Technologies, LLC has unveiled the LEP-0302G-bt-67-T, a Gigabit Ethernet Extender that offers an IP67 weatherproof rating, industrial-grade durability, and support for 802.3bt Power over Ethernet (PoE++). Optimized for long distance connectivity, when connected to a 90W bt PoE power source it supplies up to 60 Watts PoE++ to connected devices, such as IP cameras, sensors, and WAPs, while simultaneously transmitting Gigabit high-speed data beyond the standard 100-meter (328-feet) reach of copper when adding this device in-line.

The Antaira LEP-0302G-bt-67-T is a simple, plug-and-play answer for PoE devices that must receive power and data but are deployed outside the maximum reach for copper-based Ethernet networking. It will increase the overall PoE distance by an additional 100 meters for a total reach of up to 200 meters, along with supporting 10/100/1000 Mbps data rates. When daisy-chained with four additional LEP-0302G-bt-67-T extenders, the total distance can be increased to 500 meters at a reduced PoE budget.

1-IN-2-OUT EXTENDER
On the input end, the Antaira LEP-0302G-bt-67-T has a 1-port 802.3bt 90W PoE RJ45 input. On the output side, it can perform as either a single 60W Gigabit 802.3bt PSE port or two 802.3af/at 30W RJ45 ports. Automatic PoE awareness ensures that only IEEE 802.3 compliant devices are supplied with power; non-PoE devices are protected and solely receive data. The extender is self-powered by drawing from the input PoE, eliminating the need for a separate power cable or a near-by power outlet.

IP67 WEATHER-RESISTANCE
The LEP-0302G-bt-67-T Ethernet Extender is ruggedly engineered to withstand harsh or extreme weather conditions, vibrations, free fall, shock and EMI. To be certified as an IP67 device, it incorporates hardened components including water-resistant cable glands, a dust-proof protective housing, and a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to 75°C. Because of its durability, the LEP-0302G-bt-67-T Ethernet Extender can be deployed in a range of challenging locations, including underground, outdoors, or in manufacturing plants. For best performance, Antaira recommends use with UV resistant, all-weather outdoor Ethernet cables.
