Schmalz GmbH is a German company recognized as a market leader in vacuum automation and ergonomic handling solutions. Founded in 1910, Schmalz offers a comprehensive range of products, including vacuum components, robotic end effectors, and handling systems, serving industries such as automotive, electronics, logistics, and furniture production. Their solutions enhance productivity, efficiency, and safety in automated manufacturing and material handling processes. With a global presence, Schmalz operates subsidiaries and partners worldwide, providing innovative vacuum technology and comprehensive support to clients across various sectors.
Motek is taking place - live and face to face. Schmalz will be there with innovations for automation specialists as well as digitization and ergonomics specialists: intelligent grippers, MATCH extensions, digital and mobile solutions for tube lifters and much more will be presented by the vacuum expert from October 5 to 8 in Hall 7, Booth 7101.
"It's a MATCH - that fits" - is what can be said about the first cooperation project between the two handling technology specialists Zimmer Group and J. Schmalz GmbH, and that is also the name of the joint product.
Less is more. This statement also applies to Schmalz's new PXT modular gripper system. Because users can assemble their gripper quickly and easily from just a few standard components - and even assemble it themselves if they wish.
With the finger gripper OFG, Schmalz has a new gripper in its product range that grips in a tight-fitting and gentle manner. Delicate food products such as doughnuts, chocolate kisses, fruit, and vegetables are packaged safely and kept intact.
J. Schmalz GmbH has developed a new gripper for automated handling: The FQE is suitable for a variety of different tasks, including on collaborative robots, and grips workpieces of varying shapes and sizes with speed and reliability.
Schmalz is introducing a new generation of area grippers for its vacuum tube lifters in the JumboErgo series. The FMP is hugely versatile and reliably grips heavy workpieces weighing up to 140 kilograms even when only part of the suction area is covered. It replaces the FM gripper. Thanks to its modular design, the FMP also provides a basis for extending the area gripper portfolio for the vacuum tube lifter Jumbo in the future.
In order to separate them, printed-circuit boards are first scored and then any uneven or rough surfaces are milled. For this purpose, LHMT GmbH develops highly specialized tools that fully automate not only the actual scoring and milling process, but also the loading and unloading of the sensitive circuit boards. For safe, gentle handling of these parts, LHMT turned to J. Schmalz GmbH. Schmalz was able to implement a reliable gripper solution thanks, in part, to their new NBR ESD suction cups.
Trade shows and conferences are unthinkable at the moment. Schmalz is thus pursuing a different path to present its new products to a wide range of trade professionals. SchmalzEXPO, the virtual vacuum technology trade show, has been underway since the beginning of May – without any need for masks and minimum distancing requirements.
What should you do if you want an ergonomic lifting aid, but your ceiling height is too low for conventional crane systems? Schmalz’s solution is a modular flat jib made of aluminum that guarantees smooth movement sequences, even in low rooms. This novelty arrived at just the right time for Erkodent: The dental thermoforming device manufacturer wanted to optimize the packaging process at the end of the assembly line and needed a solution that left enough space for an air-conditioning system that had already been planned.
Vacuum blocks from Schmalz now integrate the NFC transmission standard, marking the first-ever use of digital technology in the company’s vacuum clamping systems. This simplifies product identification for users via smartphone and also optimizes service processes.
