At the InnoTrans 2022 international exhibition for transport technology (20-23 September, Berlin), NSK will showcase a full suite of bearing solutions for axleboxes, traction motors and gearbox applications. The company is accelerating its active engagement with European rail OEMs, particularly in the high-speed passenger segment, and will use InnoTrans to highlight its product innovation, performance and quality at Booth 260 in Hall 20.
Thanks to a long-term collaboration with Acumo AB (NSK’s authorised distributor in Sweden), one of the largest manufacturers of packaging machines in the Scandi-navian marketplace is not only able to meet its own quality and efficiency demands, but those of its customers. Through Acumo, Österbergs Förpackningsmaskiner AB has now standardised on NSK linear guides, which offer quality, precision and long service life to users of its machines.
Thanks to the adoption of NSK's linear guides with K1 lubrication units, a timber manufacturer managed to reduce conveyor downtime by a factor of more than 12, prompting annual cost savings of more than €77,000.
An Italy-based specialist serving the optical industry is benefitting from the precision and high-quality motion of NSK ball screws in its innovative lens cutting machines. The machines produced by MEI System have revolutionised optical manufacturing processes with the most advanced milling technologies, guaranteeing extremely high quality and maximum productivity.
NSK Ltd and thyssenkrupp AG have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore a potential joint venture between NSK Steering and thyssenkrupp Automotive. Both companies will now enter an assessment phase before taking a decision on any future collaboration before the end of 2022.
A manufacturer of PET (polyethylene terephthalate) bottles frequently had to replace the linear guides on its blow moulding machines. However, after switching to NSK’s RA series roller guides, there have been no failures for over a year, producing annual cost savings in maintenance, spare parts and downtime of €60,000.
The Newark, UK manufacturing facility of bearing and linear motion specialist NSK has implemented a rainwater harvesting system that will reduce mains water consumption by almost 200,000 litres a year. The installation will also contribute to the reduction of local rainwater run-off, helping to avoid potential flooding in the region.
Following its development in 2021 of the world’s first bioplastic cage for rolling bearings, NSK can now reveal its initial product line-up. The new heat-resistant cage will be available on its 60 and 62 series of deep groove ball bearings, which are ideal for fan motors in air conditioners. Moving forward, NSK will continue expanding its product portfolio and the associated range of applications for OEMs looking to develop environmentally friendly products.
In operations where contact with process fluid is unavoidable, poorly specified bearings that fail prematurely can prove costly in maintenance labour and production downtime. For this reason, increasing numbers of food and beverage plants are turning to the beneficial attributes of NSK’s Silver-Lube® bearing units. Silver-Lube® provides optimal protection against the ingress of wash-down water and detergent while simultaneously ensuring corrosion resistance.
NSK's ground ball screws, linear roller guides and super-precision ball bearings are helping IMSA to consolidate its position of excellence in the field of specialised deep-hole drilling machines, which are particularly popular for mould-making applications in the automotive sector.
