Fishing Bait Machine with Technology from SIGMATEK
Andreas Buchwinkler developed a fully automatic Boilie machine powered only by 400 V, using SIGMATEK’s S-DIAS system with integrated safety, modular control, and quick recipe-based adjustments.

In his diploma project at the Technical College for Electrical Engineering (HTL), Andreas Buchwinkler developed a fully automatic machine that efficiently, quietly and precisely produces ‘boilies’, dough balls used as fishing bait. The idea was to build a machine that doesn't need any compressed air and only runs on a 400-volt power supply – perfect for small studios or garages.
The technical implementation is based on an S-DIAS automation solution from SIGMATEK with integrated safety, which safely controls five asynchronous motors with AC drives, two stepper motors, as well as several sensors and toggle switches. Thanks to the modular control architecture, recipes and settings can be saved and configured on the 7-inch HMI ETT 731, allowing the boilie diameter to be changed in less than a minute.

My story shows what passion and the right support can achieve. For me, it's not just a diploma project, but proof that dreams can come true with dedication and the right partner. Without SIGMATEK, I wouldn't have been able to do it – I'd like to express my deepest gratitude for that,’ emphasises Andreas Buchwinkler.
SIGMATEK is happy to support exciting diploma projects with modern automation components and technical support. Such collaborations impressively demonstrate the innovative and creative solutions that can be achieved with our technologies.
